TrackMan Virtual Golf
TrackMan Virtual Golf is TrackMan's own simulator software, and it only runs on TrackMan hardware. It lives inside TrackMan Performance Studio, or TPS, and its current graphics engine is Virtual Golf 3. If you own a TrackMan 4 or a TrackMan iO, this is the software that turns your shots into rounds, practice sessions, and games.
The headline is the course library. Virtual Golf 3 renders more than 550 courses in 4K, with more added every month, including Pebble Beach, St Andrews, PGA National, and Valderrama. Courses are rebuilt from on site photography, scanning, and geomapping, with dynamic weather, evolving clouds, and a color coded green grid to help read putts.
Practice is where this software earns its price. Range gives a clean, focused view of ball flight and dispersion. Shot Analysis goes deeper, with ball flight, impact, and club delivery data, plus overlays and tracers. Performance Center scores approach and tee shots with Strokes Gained against handicap groups or tour players. Test Center and the 60 shot TrackMan Combine give coaches and serious players a repeatable benchmark.
Entertainment is built in, not bolted on. Games such as Bullseye, Hit It!, Scrapyard, and Magic Pond suit different skill levels and groups. Ghost rounds let you compete hole by hole against previously recorded rounds from friends or anonymous tour level players. Online VG lets friends play live from different locations, and competitions add local and global tournaments.
The catch is the total cost of ownership. The software is a yearly subscription on top of the launch monitor, which you buy separately. The Home tier is 700 dollars per year, and Home Complete and the Commercial license are 1100 dollars per year. The first year of the premium license is included with a new unit purchase. There is no separate connector fee and no third party launch monitor support: this software is TrackMan only, and that focus is exactly why it feels so complete.
Who it is for: TrackMan 4 or iO owners who want the deepest practice tools and the full course library in one place, and who are happy to pay a yearly subscription for it. If you do not own TrackMan hardware, or you want software that runs across brands, look at GSPro or E6 Connect instead.

Will it run on my PC?
One required PC spec, not a budget build
TrackMan publishes a single required specification, not a minimum versus recommended pair, so the required figures below are the minimum in practice. The only tiered figure is graphics: the standard iO setup needs an RTX 4070 Ti class card, while a 4K TrackMan 4 setup needs a higher tier. Budget for the full required PC, not a gaming laptop that happens to be nearby, and plan a wired network connection.

Straight answers to what golfers ask about TrackMan Virtual Golf, from course downloads to keyboard shortcuts.
Courses
3 answersHow many courses can I play?
The full Virtual Golf 3 library holds more than 550 courses, with more added every month. Home Complete and Commercial licenses include all courses. The Home license includes a static course set, not the full library, so check your tier before assuming every course is open.
Are famous courses included?
Yes. TrackMan names Pebble Beach, St Andrews, PGA National, and Valderrama among the Virtual Golf 3 courses, alongside hundreds of other world class courses.
Can I search and filter the course list?
Yes. In the Courses section you can search by name, country, or category, and filter by difficulty or by whether ghost rounds are available.
Controls & shortcuts
3 answersHow do players log in to a session?
Players log in from the top right corner using a QR code through the TrackMan Golf app. Up to 8 players can be logged in at the same time, and the active group is shown in the interface.
Can I set up my clubs in the app?
Yes. Map My Bag is set up in the TrackMan Golf app, where you add clubs, rename them, and organize your setup. Shot data then builds your club distances and dispersion patterns over time.
Is there a published keyboard shortcut list?
No official keyboard shortcut list was found for TPS. The software is built around on screen navigation, a touchscreen friendly layout, and app login, with facility settings for the default landing page and multi display layouts. Do not rely on memorized shortcuts from other simulator software.
Setup & connection
3 answersWhat hardware do I need to run it?
A TrackMan 4 or TrackMan iO launch monitor, a Windows 11 PC that meets TrackMan's required specification, and your simulator room setup with a projector and screen. The iO is ceiling mounted; the TrackMan 4 sits behind the ball.
How does the launch monitor connect to the PC?
By wired Ethernet. The iO and iO Duo need two 1 Gbit per second Ethernet ports on the PC. The TrackMan 4 needs one Ethernet port plus WiFi. A wired connection is the stable choice for real time shot data.
Do I need an internet connection?
An internet connection is recommended for downloads and updates. Administrators manage installed content in Download Manager, with Smart Install for a popular selection, Complete Install for everything, and Manual Install for full control. Online play and cloud profiles also need a connection.
Gameplay & modes
4 answersWhat practice modes are included?
Range for focused ball flight and dispersion work, Shot Analysis for deep ball, impact, and club delivery data, Performance Center for Strokes Gained practice in course scenarios, Target Practice for free form shots from anywhere, and On Course Practice to rehearse any hole from any spot.
What is TrackMan Combine?
A standardized 60 shot test used to benchmark your skills and track progress over time. Test Center lets coaches and academies design custom performance tests around specific training goals.
What games can I play?
The Games section is split by experience level. Bullseye and Hit It! suit golfers with some experience, while Scrapyard and Magic Pond suit beginners, groups, and non golfers looking for a relaxed session.
What are ghost rounds?
Ghost rounds let you compete against previously recorded rounds from friends or anonymous tour level players, following their shots hole by hole during your own round. It feels live even when you are not playing at the same time.
Pricing & license
5 answersHow much does the subscription cost?
The Home subscription is 700 dollars per year. The Home Complete subscription is 1100 dollars per year. The Commercial license, for golf centers, clubs, and entertainment venues, is also 1100 dollars per year. These are TrackMan's own help center figures.
Is the first year included?
Yes, for a new unit purchase. TrackMan's software terms state that the first year of the premium software license is included with all new unit purchases, but not necessarily with upgrades. After that, you renew annually.
What is the difference between Home and Home Complete?
Home includes Range, Target Practice, On Course Practice, a static course set, 3 static games, tournaments, and Online VG. Home Complete adds Shot Analysis, the Performance Center, all courses, and all games. On the iO, Home gives club speed only, while Home Complete gives the full 9 club data figures.
Do I need anything besides the subscription to connect my launch monitor?
No extra connector or third party subscription is needed, because this is TrackMan's native software. What you do need is the launch monitor itself, bought separately: the help center states these subscriptions are additional yearly subscriptions to the unit. The subscription is the software license, not a fee on top of one.
Can I use this software with another brand of launch monitor?
No. TrackMan Virtual Golf in TPS is officially for TrackMan 4 and TrackMan iO units only. No other brand is on TrackMan's official support list for this software, so do not buy it expecting it to drive a non TrackMan monitor.
Online play
2 answersCan I play live with friends in other locations?
Yes. Online VG lets you invite friends, join live sessions, and see each other's shots in real time, and it is included in all three subscription tiers.
Are there tournaments?
Yes. Competitions offer local and global tournaments, depending on the facility, location, and who is logged in. Each competition shows its format, requirements, and setup before you join.
Troubleshooting
2 answersMy PC has an AMD graphics card, or Intel Iris Xe graphics. Will it work?
No. TrackMan states that Intel Iris Xe and AMD GPUs are not supported. Graphics cards below an RTX 4070 Ti are only supported for the TrackMan 4, not for the iO, even on low graphics settings. Check the PC specification before buying a computer for this software.
Courses or features are missing after install. What should I check?
First check your subscription status in the About section of Settings, then check Download Manager to see what is actually installed. Smart Install only installs a popular selection; Complete Install downloads all courses and activities but needs more storage. If content is still missing, collect diagnostics from Settings and share them with TrackMan Support.
