FSX Play

FSX Play is Foresight Sports' PC simulation software for its own launch monitors. It pairs measured ball and club data with a Unity HDRP graphics engine, 3D grass and foliage, and support for resolutions up to 5K, and it organizes play into three modes: Courses, Practice, and Games. Course rounds are highly configurable, with scoring formats, pin placement, mulligans, putting modes, gimmes, terrain and lie settings, and weather including real-time conditions. Practice covers driving range sessions and on-course practice with live shot data, shot analysis, and optional swing camera video. Games covers skills challenges, closest to the pin and long drive contests, tournaments, leagues, and PinSeeker integration. Courses you bought individually stay yours under a perpetual license, and an FSX 2020 course library transfers into FSX Play when you sign in with the same FSX Live account. Important context for new buyers: Foresight has moved new development to Foresight Premier and the Foresight+ membership, and FSX Play is now in sustainment, receiving critical bug fixes and security updates but no new features. New FSX Play licenses are no longer distributed except in extenuating circumstances, and individual course purchases end December 31, 2026. FSX Play remains the right choice for existing Foresight owners who want to keep using the licenses and courses they already own.

FSX Play system requirements

Foresight publishes minimum specs plus recommended notes for GPU and RAM. AMD CPUs are not recommended and AMD or Quadro GPUs are not supported, so an Nvidia RTX card is mandatory. Aim above the minimum if you play at high resolution or use a swing camera.

Courses

3 answers
How many courses come with FSX Play?

FSX Play includes 25 courses. Additional courses can be bought individually through December 31, 2026. After that date, individual course purchases end and new course access moves to Course Pass or Course Pass Pro under Foresight+.

Do my FSX 2020 courses work in FSX Play?

Yes. Your FSX 2020 course library unlocks in FSX Play when you sign in with the same FSX Live username and password used for FSX 2020. Courses you bought individually also carry over into Foresight Premier once converted, with an active Silver or Gold membership.

Can I create a custom course from holes on different courses?

Yes. FSX Play lets you build a custom course using holes from individual courses in your library.

Controls & shortcuts

3 answers
What shortcuts are available during a round?

The in-game shortcuts bar includes Bird's Eye aerial view, Analysis, Camera, Flag, Conditions, Fly flyby, Green contours, Grid toggle, Replay, Skip Hole, Score, display settings, and Mulligan. You can pin the shortcuts you use most to the bar.

Can I change the camera view during a shot?

Yes. The Camera shortcut lets you switch between in-flight camera views, including Start Cam, End Cam, and PGA Tour Cam, with a preview of each view before you apply it.

Does FSX Play support keyboard shortcuts?

Yes. FSX Play has a keyboard shortcuts window, and in-game shortcuts can be pinned to the shortcuts bar.

Setup & connection

3 answers
What do I need to install FSX Play?

A Windows PC that meets the system requirements, a supported Foresight or Bushnell launch monitor, an FSX Live account, and either an FSX Play activation code or an active subscription sign-in. Courses must be downloaded and activated before they are available to play.

How do I connect my launch monitor to FSX Play?

Turn on your launch monitor, open FSX Play, and use Search to find and connect your device. You can also connect from the Player Dashboard under the Devices tab. Ground devices connect by USB or direct Ethernet. Overhead devices (GCHawk, Falcon) connect by Ethernet only.

Can I use a swing camera with FSX Play?

Yes, on version 1.10.0.10 or newer. Enable the swing camera in Menu, Settings, Swing Camera. Swing camera video shows in the Analysis screen on the Video tab and is triggered by ball impact. Cameras that connect through an API or SDK are not supported.

Gameplay & modes

4 answers
What game modes does FSX Play include?

Three main modes: Courses for full rounds, Practice for driving range and on-course practice sessions, and Games for skills challenges, closest to the pin, long drive, tournaments, leagues, and PinSeeker.

What scoring formats can I use?

Stroke Play, Stableford, and Modified Stableford. Match Play scoring is also available for course play.

What putting modes are available?

Auto Putt, Fast Putting, and Manual Putting. You can also set a gimme distance. FSX Play integrates with PuttView, which can be used as a putting mode during a round.

Can I adjust course conditions?

Yes. You can set pin placement, green speed (Stimp 5 to 15), fairway firmness and speed, rough, lie penalty, wind, altitude, temperature, fog, and time of day, including night play. Real-time weather applies the live conditions for the selected course.

Pricing & license

3 answers
How much does FSX Play cost?

FSX Play is a perpetual, one-time license. The last listed upgrade price was $500 for existing FSX 2020 license holders, through authorized dealers. Foresight no longer distributes new FSX Play licenses except in extenuating circumstances, so new buyers should look at Foresight Premier and Foresight+ instead.

Do I need anything besides FSX Play to connect my launch monitor?

For a GC3 or GCQuad, a valid FSX Play license is enough, with no ongoing subscription. For a Bushnell Launch Pro, FSX Play access requires an active Silver or Gold subscription. In FSX Play, Gold unlocks the full software, while Silver restricts the player list to 4 players and the club list to 14 clubs.

Is FSX Play still supported?

FSX Play is in sustainment. It receives critical bug fixes and security updates, but no new features. Your perpetual license stays valid, and Foresight has no plan to end-of-life FSX Play. All new feature development is exclusive to Foresight Premier and Foresight+.

Online play

3 answers
Can I play online with other people?

Yes. FSX Play supports online contests, tournaments, leagues, and skills challenges through FSX Live, plus PinSeeker tournaments. Team Play covers scramble and best ball formats.

How do I join a league?

Sign in to your FSX Live account, open Games, then Leagues, and select the league you want to join. Private leagues need a league code, entered through the join private option.

What is PinSeeker in FSX Play?

PinSeeker is an integration for closest-to-the-pin tournaments. You enter tournaments through the PinSeeker mobile app, and FSX Play hosts free-to-enter and pay-to-enter events with cash and merchandise prizes.

Troubleshooting

3 answers
Why do my courses show as Not Activated?

Courses must be downloaded and activated before play. Open the course in FSX Play while signed in to the FSX Live account that holds the license. If a course still shows Not Activated, check that you are signed in with the account tied to the purchase.

FSX Play cannot find my launch monitor. What should I try?

Confirm the device is on and connected by USB or Ethernet, then use Search in FSX Play or the Devices tab in the Player Dashboard. Overhead devices need Ethernet. If validation fails, confirm the device is registered and has completed its validation period, and that the PC has an active internet connection.

Can I move FSX Play to a new PC?

Yes. Each activation code can be used once but can be deactivated and reused from the Licenses tab in your FSX Live account, which lets you reinstall on a new PC. Licenses cannot be shared between bays or transferred between FSX Live accounts once activated.
