About the Course

The San Andrés Golf Club, located in the municipality of Funza within the western savanna of Bogotá, Cundinamarca, stands as one of Colombia's premier historic golfing institutions. Situated at an altitude of approximately 2,548 to 2,600 meters above sea level, the highland plateau environment introduces distinct atmospheric dynamics that cause golf balls to travel 8% to 10% further than at sea level. Benefiting from a localized rain shadow, the venue receives about 25% less precipitation than other areas of the Bogotá basin, offering an exceptional climate for year-round play.

Insider's Guide

What golfers love

4 PROS

Features a rare and celebrated collaborative routing by Stanley Thompson and Robert Trent Jones Sr.

Located in a geographic rain shadow, receiving roughly 25% less precipitation than the rest of the Bogotá basin.

Advanced subsurface drainage system prevents waterlogging and ensures firm, fast-playing surfaces year-round.

Pristine Kikuyu fairways provide an excellent cushion and lie for optimal ball contact.

Things to know

2 CONS

The thick lateral growth of the aggressive Kikuyu rough heavily penalizes off-target tee shots.

The signature par-four 11th hole is a severe test with a daunting water hazard stretching across the entire left side.
