About the Course

Club Payande is an 18 hole, par 72 resort course in the Tobia river valley near Quebradanegra, about 90 minutes from Bogota. Designed by American architect Scott Miller and inspired by Royal Melbourne, the course plays from tree named tees up to 7,109 yards, with water, bunkers and valley views shaping every hole. The resort setting adds lodging, dining and event space, so a round pairs easily with a weekend stay in warm 22 to 28 degree weather. Fedegolf homologated, it is a championship test that still offers a forward tee at 5,313 yards for shorter hitters.

What golfers love

5 PROS

Five tee choices from 7,109 yards down to 5,313 yards, so strong players and shorter hitters each get a fair test on the same course.

A Scott Miller design inspired by Royal Melbourne, with strategic bunkering and water that reward placement over raw length.

A warm Tobia valley setting at 760 metres, with valley views and a tropical climate that suits golf year round.

A full resort stay on site, with lodging, dining and event space, so a round fits naturally into a weekend away from Bogota.

Practice facilities on site, including a driving range and putting green, plus carts, caddies and a teaching pro.

Things to know

4 CONS

The back tee is a stern test at 7,109 yards with a 74.3 rating, and the 621 yard 11th hole will stretch most players.

Water is in play on several holes, with a stream, a lake and greens guarded by water, so a wayward shot is punished quickly.

The club sits about 90 minutes and 75 kilometres from Bogota, so it is a planned trip rather than a quick after work round.

Tropical valley heat, with daytime temperatures between 22 and 28 degrees, makes an early tee time and plenty of water wise choices.

Local Tips

GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR ROUND

01

Pick the right tee

With five tees spanning 7,109 to 5,313 yards, choose the set that matches your carry distance, not your ego, and the course plays fair all day.

02

Respect the water

Water guards several greens and a stream crosses play in places, so lay up to a comfortable number rather than forcing a carry you do not own.

03

Use the range first

Warm up on the driving range and putting green before you start, since the opening holes ask for a straight drive and a precise second shot.

04

Play early in the heat

Book an early tee time, carry water, and use a hat and sunscreen, since valley temperatures run between 22 and 28 degrees.

05

Make a weekend of it

Stay on site, since the resort lodging, dining and event space turn a 90 minute trip from Bogota into a proper golf weekend.
