E6 passes 15,000 courses. Here is what that number actually buys you

TruGolf announced Oct 22 that its E6 library crossed 15,000 on-demand courses, up 50% in under a year. The count is the headline. The delivery method is the real story.

The announcement

TruGolf announced on Oct 22, 2026 that E6 by TruGolf now offers more than 15,000 real-world golf courses on demand, a 50% increase in under a year. TruGolf's announcement

The takeaway up front: the interesting part is not the 15,000. It is that every one of those courses reaches golfers on 19 different launch monitors without anyone downloading a course library. That is the part that changes what simulator software feels like to own.

How 15,000 courses get to your screen

E6 does not ship a giant course pack. Each course is generated at runtime and placed at its true location on the globe using Cesium for Unreal, the open geospatial platform behind major 3D mapping work. Cesium published a user story on how it works

Here is what that means in practice:

  • Each course is built from public and high-resolution private datasets, processed for accurate ball physics.
  • The world around it streams in from Google Photorealistic 3D Tiles and Bing Maps imagery, so you see the real surroundings: the Sphere over a Las Vegas skyline, the coast at Pebble Beach, the Wasatch range behind a Park City green.
  • TruGolf layers on auto-populated vegetation plus controls for time of day, weather, and atmosphere.
  • Only the data for your current round is delivered, so courses load fast and the app does not balloon on your drive.

The numbers behind the announcement

TruGolf shared usage stats with the announcement, and they say something about how people actually play:

  • On-demand course play in E6 Golf 2026 grew nearly sixfold year over year.
  • Golfers explored more than four times as many different courses as the year before.
  • Shots played on on-demand courses grew more than sevenfold.
  • Rounds played on E6 Golf 2026 more than tripled.
  • On-demand courses now account for more than 40% of rounds, up from about 30% a year ago.
  • Golfers have hit hundreds of millions of shots on the E6 platform since 2022.

The pattern is clear: when courses are free to browse and instant to load, people try far more of them. The 15,000 number and the usage growth feed each other.

What it means if you own a launch monitor

Because E6 is hardware-agnostic, the library works across 19 launch monitors, including several we track. From our E6 Connect page:

  • Garmin Approach R10 connects to E6 with no extra launch monitor subscription.
  • Uneekor Eye Mini Lite connects, with a Uneekor subscription required for third-party software.
  • Rapsodo MLM2PRO connects, with a Rapsodo Premium membership required.

A course TruGolf adds this week is playable on your existing hardware by the weekend. No new box required.

The pricing reality, stated plainly

The 15,000 number lives behind the subscription tiers, and the tiers are where buyers should look before getting excited. Prices as of Oct 17, 2026, from our E6 Connect page:

  • Home license: $1,000 one-time, 27 owned courses, no annual subscription.
  • Basic subscription: $300 per year, rotating course content through the year.
  • Expanded subscription: $600 per year, the full E6 library with no rotation.

The full library, including the new on-demand courses, sits behind the Expanded tier. A Basic subscriber gets rotating content, not permanent access to everything. Prices change, so treat these as the Oct 17, 2026 snapshot and check the current numbers on the page.

For context, GSPro is $250 per year with its own course library, but it runs on Windows only. E6 runs on Windows and iOS, so it is the option if you want to play from an iPad. Our GSPro page

Our take

Fifteen thousand courses sounds like a lot because it is. But here is the honest question: how many courses do you actually play?

Most simulator owners rotate through five or six favorites and revisit them endlessly. For those golfers, the jump from 10,000 to 15,000 courses changes nothing about Tuesday night. The people who win most from this are the curious: golfers who like playing a new course every session, and commercial venues where every customer wants something different.

The part we genuinely like is the engineering. Downloads are the hidden tax of simulator software. A library this size as downloads would be an unmanageable multi-hundred-gigabyte burden. On-demand delivery turns the library into something you browse instead of something you maintain. That is a real quality-of-life upgrade, and it is why the usage numbers grew the way they did.

The part to watch: on-demand means streamed, which means your internet connection is now part of your simulator. If your sim room is in a Wi-Fi dead zone, that is the upgrade to make first. E6 already requires internet for activation and online features, per TruGolf's specs.

If you are still weighing software against hardware, our Eye Mini Lite vs Square Omni post walks through the true yearly costs of the two monitors we get asked about most.

Bottom line: if you already subscribe to E6, your subscription just got better without you doing anything. If you are choosing software, price the tier you actually need, check whether your monitor needs its own connector fee, and be honest about how many courses you will really play.
